Rendering White Scene

Hi, I am new to blender. I was trying a tutorial for cycle render. My scene consists a plane, the monkey and a square smaller than the money for lighting as emission. My render was white with little detail. I have not touched any parameter.
Then I rendered a blank scene. It was complete white.

Why is this happening… ? It should be black since no object is there in the scene.

if anything it sounds like your light is too powerful, reduce the streangth and see if it makes any difference and check if you have enviromental lighting settings on as well

Thank you…I restarted the scene at it was fine. I do not know what happened. But thank you Small Troll I learned something new.
