i’ve had a lot of trouble getting the gsoc collada import to work with sketchup. It tends to mess up instances of components. Havn’t tried export from sketchup, but i am really happy that the sketchup devs finally decided to put collada export/import in 7.1! I am looking forward to the day when they work seemlessly
One more scaling/positioning question now that I have the model in Blender…
The scale of the mesh was huge on import. In my Ogre App. 1 Blender unit is 1 meter however the scale of this object, as well as the Z axis is way off and I’m having trouble moving the Z elevation in my scene with the usual setting my cursor to 1.0 and moving the object center to it the applying my changes and exporting.
Currently 1 blender unit seems to be about 2.5 meters. Is there a way to totally re-set the mesh dimensions so again 1 blender unit will convert to 1 meter in my app? Should I somehow create a new scene and import it again???
