The story for this render is that I was trying to make a volumetric space nebula, but when trying to convert Cartesian coordinates to polar coordinates I did a mistake, but ended up with a nice effect anyway

“The computer bug as an artist…”
IIRC, this was the caption for several images included in the book “The Fractal Geometry of Nature” by Benoit Mandelbrot ©1977, 1983… to label interesting images “mistakenly” generated, way back when computer generated imagery was still in its infancy.
You never know what you’ll find…
