Return the add_node search function to pre - 4.0

I just started using 4.0 recently and I noticed when adding a new node in any of the editors you can just start typing and the search menu appears. This behaviour however removes the previous behaviour where in the add_node menu or sub menu you can just enter a key, usually the first letter of the node name to add it.

Is there a way to reactivate this behaviour back? I have a workflow around it that I very much prefer and I really don’t like this new workflow. It’s slower for me.

Cheers

Should still work on first letters of menus:
e.g. Shift-Aucb = Utilities,Color,Blackbody

or Shift-Ampc , etc.

And if you have items you use a lot then you can assign shortcuts.

Good luck!

I see. Thanks.

I must say, though, that’s a rather unintuitive workflow, but I see how it can be beneficial.

The previous workflow is still faster in my opinion. the fact that I don’t have to click or press enter at the end of the search sequence seems more beneficial to me.

Maybe I’m biased and this workflow might be even faster. Who knows. Let’s just see how it goes.

Thanks again.
