Rigging Lego

Hi, all

I’m pretty new to rigging in blender so I follow a tutorial in YouTube.

but for some reason when I moved my lego’s leg or arm it always ended up looking like in this… does anyone know what happen?

Welcome to BA

The fastest way to fix this is to go into Edit Mode on your mesh and select the whole body - without the arm. Open a Properties Editor and click on the Green Cube. Go to Vertex Groups, find the group that shares a name with your bone, and click Remove.

On a broader level, this isn’t a great way to rig something non-deforming like solid plastic. I’d recommend not using automatic weights here. But, that solution will at least fix your problem

Hii, thank you for replying.

I did all of the thing you told me to do and it still does the same

What do you recommend i should use instead of the automatic weight?

if you do mechanical rigging (which is, when the parts are not deforming, but just moving and rotating) then i think the easiest way is to separate all objects which can move alone and then select the mesh (your arm), then shift select the armature → pose mode → select your bone, ctrl-p → bone

You have to do it for each bone’s vertex group.

oh thank you so much!! doing the mechanical rigging help!
