Rigging with a Mirror Modifier

Hi everyone,

I’m fairly new to Blender. Recently, I’ve come across a problem. The problem is when I make a character mesh, using the mirror modifier. When I rig the character’s arm with armature and vertex groups, the arm on the mirrored side goes crazy when I move the arm bones. Please help.

Do I need to need to make the character without the mirror modifier?

When you’ve finished modeling the character with the mirror mod on, apply the mirror modifier before start rigging.

Didn’t know you can do that…
