when i change the leg length of the meta rig (thigh bone or foot bone z-axis),
the generated rig’s Foot Controller floats above ground (see attached img)
its not broken or anything, controls and foot rolls work fine,
just wondering if anyone noticed this or knows how to solve it.
as this would almost always happen if your character doesnt have a perfect leg length.
im not a long term user of blender / Rigify so im not sure if its been like this.
as i said its not broken or anything i can simply clear foot ik transform to rig position.
to make it more clear here’s a clean file with a new meta rig with No modifications from me,
and the generated rig.
i guess what i expect is for the controller to align with the heel bone (where the ground is),
as there is a thickness to the foot so foot bones wouldn’t be touching ground anyway.
I see. It aligns with the Toe bone, not the heel. The heel is still used as a pivot of rotation for the foot roll tho.
If all you want is to move the controller you could unhide the Widgets collection. Select the controllers for the leg and in edit mode, move them down a bit. Then hide the widgets collection again.
