I know it’s not perfect, but I think it’s not bad for a beginner! ![]()
All feedback gratefully received.
Looks great, very realistic especially for a beginner
Thanks!
A lot of it is smooth white surfaces, which helps! ![]()
It was my 1st attempt at cloth simulation, which ended at “pfft, that’ll have to do!”
The cloth simulation does look a little rigid, but getting blender to do what you want can be near impossible sometimes as I have learned when trying to simulate fire and not being able to figure out why my smoke would show in the viewport but not the final render. you mentioned you were new, how long have you been on blender. (I’ve been on for 6 months, so I am still very new)
I’ve been using Blender for 3-4 months.
I did quite a lot with SketchUp, but never mastered it.
I’ve been jumping around trying to learn lots of different bits, haven’t really decided where to specialise. Currently banging my head against Geometry Nodes
Ugh, I hate geometry nodes. Even with a YouTube tutorial I still manage to mess them up lol. the issue with the smoke I was talking about above turned out to be due to geometry nodes -__- I always knew I wanted to be an animator on yt when I joined blender. nowadays I have a small yt channel with some ok videos ![]()
I need to figure fire/smoke, for my Dungeon scenes, but I’m struggling, and it’s only for side pieces right now, so I keep putting on the back-burner ![]()
Animation is NOT my thing! Hard enough to get a static scene right! ![]()
Honestly, I find it more impressive when someone can model a whole static scene then when I use a program to import a scene to animate my characters on. What part of the fire and smoke are you struggling with? I may be able to lend a hand after all the pain I went through (not to mention he yt tutorials I spent hours watching lol)
I think that, like Cloth, fire/smoke is done through simulation/animation is putting me off.
I’m a lot more comfortable with Hard Surface modelling.
Thats understandable. I wish I was better at hard surface modeling. I just always seem to mess my stuff up irreparably, although I have modeled a few cool things. some examples are, "lightning, oceans, chains, and custom weapons. Like I remember the first thing I ever modeled I took 2 cubes and stretched them out to make a rectangle shaped thingy. then I added another cube on front as the “cab” and then I added torus’s scaled down as wheels XD. and i had the audacity to call it a truck. i’ll see if i have a photo of it somewhere lol
this is a “truck” from my first week on blender!!!
I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!
Its ok. better than I could do -__-
