Hi there, I’ve been racking my brains and trying to find an answer but still with no luck. I downloaded a seamless road texture off texture.com. I applied the texture to a plane, rotated it and when it came to applying an array, the seamless goes out the window.
Like @Magnavis said it’s not seamless…but even if it was you would still get obvious tiling just because the fixed areas of the texture will repeat over distance…not bad in a close view but the more you see of the road the more obvious it gets…
There is this older tutorial from Blender Guru that will help you out…
BUT…you have a road with a grass verge…in this one case I would go back and get a road texture only. Poliigon has them under Urban > Roads and also 2 under Free…
and also Textures.com has a BUNCH in PBR >Roads…
Then what I have done at times is to take the road and add several loop-cuts breaking it into several different sections …and separate buy selection and rotate a couple 180.
You can also create a blend Mask in Texture paint to get rid of any graring seams…
If you get a plane asphalt with out the stripes, you can add them in with a mesh and shrink map to the road surface…you can also use the mask with a mix rgb and just add the color to the road surface ( Yellow/White ).
Something like this ( texture was from Textures.com I believe…)
