rock particles?

I hope this is the rite forum…

is there a way to make little rocks or pebbles using partile effects?

You can create “rocks” and set them to take the place of the particles but, you need to create the rocks (or whatever) first.

The following steps are just a basic outline.

  1. create rock mesh
  2. create particle emitter object (plane, etc.)
  3. turn on the Duplivert option for the emitter object
  4. parent the rock mesh to the emitter object
  5. animate

That’ll look kind of repetive, though, so want you can do is do this in the new particle patch, where you can assign a GROUP of objects instead of one, and the particle system will pick the objects out of the group at random. Also, it’ll let you set random size and rotation. :]
