I did this with the intention of familiarizing myself with archimesh.

Considering my level of skill I think it turned out OK. All the materials are procedural, except for the blender logo on the poster. I used Cycles’ sky texture for main lightning. There are two light portals outside of the window. Also there are two area lights in the (not visible) corridor.


One thing that gave me real grief was glass rendering black. The glass on the table for instance had (very small) bevelling, it was set to smooth and auto smoothing was also turned on. It didn’t render right until I went in and added lots of faces there. A common advice in this case is to use edge split, but I really didn’t want anything sharp there. (Perhaps I’m not getting what edge split does)

You have a problem with your size. proportions are off.
