This was made with geometry nodes as a way to familiarise myself with the (relatively) new matrix nodes.
Each “move” is represented by a transformation matrix, which is then multiplied with the transform matrices of the subsequent moves to get the final transform of each piece.
It then chains a bunch of random moves together to scramble the cube, and then undoes them to give the impression of solving the puzzle (it can’t solve actual Rubik’s Cubes (yet))
Since everything is procedural the blend file is tiny, so feel free to have a poke about at it (Blender 4.5+):
