Hi,
I started on this scene yesterday and I think it’s turned out… decent looking…
it started out as just trying to make the fence which then turned into the entire scene.
It really isn’t much I just thought I’d post it too see what you guys think
It’s all pretty low poly and was all molded by me…
in the screen shots I turned the power of the light up so you could see better but it’s normally a night time scene (hence the spot lights)
PS: I stole the leaf textures from yo frankie :ba:

Looks good, but I have a question: why do you guys make low poly roads in games? can’t you just texture the road with a picture? It would look normal.
For my road I just used a plain that’s sitting right on top of the ground and then I added a road texture… so yeah… what you said
@rvngizswt : Cause that would require an unnecessary amount of UV unwrapping (and a lot more work) his way is fine, but I’d add a LOT more polys, race games can usually handle amazing graphics because the actual gameplay is not CPU intensive at all. I’d recommend subdividing the mesh a few times.

Trees looks like baobabs. For Russia you should model a pines.

IMHO
It depends about the racing game/sim.
Others are putting 99% CPU/GPU load to the shining, mirroring & eyecandy, while others are more interested about the actual real life car handling physics on different road surfaces in different conditions.

Thanks
I’m going to post a video pretty soon… it’s alot easier to see detail in a video
Even better than a video! here’s the .blend!
The video wasn’t working… so I decided to do it this way
