Sailing to the Unknown

I was working on an animation for this, but I just had to do it as a static scene first. I modeled this ship like 3 years ago, when I was starting to learn 3d, and never showed or used it on a render

Awesome render. And the ship model looks great! I can imagine it would have taken a while to complete.

Yeah, I had to re-do the hull so many times bc my topology wasn’t right. I made in like 2 weeks, but I was working with blender (3d in general) for like 2 months at that time… So I had the feeling that I was overestimating myself on the process, but it worked I’m proud of it even with some visible essues :blush:

I modeled a Sloop and I found that the hull was the hardest part as well.
This ship looks great though, and even if it does have some minor visible issues they aren’t noticeable.

suggestions:
a transparent ocean with a volume shader underneath, to have the choppy high waves to scatter light (greenish blue) specially with sun set in front of the camera


and adding a Mist pass slightly composed to it
