save image after texture painting?

I’m painting a model with the TexturePaint mode. But the painting disappeared several times. Should i save it? How?

I also tried the Quick Edit in external editor, and the same. After a while, moving some other things, the texture disappears. And it’s not being saved with the blend file. so i can’t recover it.

I can project the texture to UV sometimes, but with the risk to loose it. The behavior is quite hard to figure out.

So, should i save the UV an apply the UV mapping instead of rendering with TexturePaint drawings?

I’m looking around for something else, but I think what your wanting is the Save As under the image menu in the UV editor. The asterisk is there because the image has changed. Just save to apply it as a texture.
