Saved Object Won't Show After File is Closed and Re-Opened

Hi guys,

I spent a good hour working on a Shawl for this man here and when I saved, closed the file, and later re-opened it, his shawl disappeared. The Shawl object is still in the Scene Collection, but for some unknown reason to me it will not show up, no matter what I do. I even unintalled Blender and installed 4.0.

Please help.

Here’s a screen shot:

Thank you.

I see you used Hair Curves on the shawl, did you check that? Was that with GN or Particles…I can’t remember which icon that is…
Might need to restart the output of GN ( Disconnect/Re-Connect output or Re-grow Hair. )

Hi there,

I am not sure if that is the case.

I have another file with no hair or fur and when I opened it both the undershirt and the pants disappeared. See in “Clothes” collection: Astronaut pants and Tank Liner are both not there, but tank armor is.

I found the problem:

Some objects within the scene were edited at a later frame on the animation timeline. When I open the file, the animation automatically goes back to frame 0, which is “before” all those changes on that obj were made.

If you have this problem, the solution I’ve made is:

  • go to Animation
  • check that you are on Frame 0 on the Dope Sheet. If you’re not on Frame 0, drag the needle to frame 0 and delete all the other yellow dots (keyframes) that aren’t on frame 0.
  • go back to layout and do all the transformations for your obj again. If you Set all Transforms on your obj before saving the file last time, all you have to do is just set 0 to all Location, Rotation. 1 to Scale.

If someone else more pro has an easier solution please reply. Thanks
