saving materials

hey again guys, i made a few really good material that i would like to save and come back to use on future projects, is it possible to create a library or something of them?

Thanks guys

Each ‘.blend’ file contains everything - models, materials, etc. So in a way these .blend-files are the libraries.

See this video tutorial to learn how to import/append models, textures or anything from any blend file http://www.ibiblio.org/bvidtute/contrib/vf2.avi
(from this page http://blender3d.org/cms/Getting_started.400.0.html)
or this non video tut http://download.blender.org/documentation/oldsite/oldsite.blender3d.org/142_Blender%20tutorial%20Append.html

If you want a really clean and nice ‘library’, just create a new blend, append the materials you want from other blend files and apply each on a simple cube or sphere on a different layer.

See this thread for links to an excellent library script.

Ditto CD38!!!

The script is excellent, It helps you organize your work, and uses the append functionality.

Best of Luck!!
