I know to use CTRL-U to save the current user prefs including all screens etc, but can this functionality be used to save more than one user pref setup at a time with the current release? Or do I have to find and rename the .blend file and keep notes and just rename them as needed? I am new at this so I can see where once I figure out a setup I will use again and again it will make life easier.

I guess I answered my own question. Sometimes it takes a while to sink in as the interface can be overwhelming at first (and for a while longer too). But I guess just saving a blend file and reopening it and editing it and re-saving with a different name works. And once the user prefs are set they should be more or less a permanent setting.
