Scale an Torus

Is there a way to scale the diameter of a torus without scaling the thickness of the Ring and to animate that differently?

For better unterstandig: I tried an bezier-circle. As the bevel object i chose anoter bezier-circle. That gave a fine torus. Scaling the bevob changes the thickness of the torus - what i wanted to happen. But animating the bevob’s size (the little circle) doesn’t seem to cause any effect.
And when scaling the big circle (changing the torus’ diameter) the thickness (little circle’s diameter) is scaled with it.

Thanks for help, Tim-Erwin

I think I understand what your asking. If you animate the BevObj you won’t see it until you actually render the animation. Here is a quick sample using Bezier curves.

and a quick animation (divx5.1 encoded)

Hope this helps
If it doesn’t then just ignore me as someone who hasn’t got a clue.

Thanks!

That really helped! I should have done a few test renders.
