Scene rendering and video editing

Hello everyone,

I’m a not so beginner concerning Blender, and I was asked to make a video edition with animated text.
animating the text (SVG imported to Blender) is ok, and there were not so much issues due to the huge amount of tutorial available on internet.

Where it is more complicated for me, it that I have to add this scene in front of an existing video to incrust these elements.

I have my 3d scene in Channel 2 and the video in channel 1, but the thing is, the background remain grey and I do not see the video in the rear.

I setted the film as transparent for the camera, without any result, and I played with the blend in compositing, and do not work as well.

Does anyone has any idea how to parameter my elements to have it work ?

Thanks for your time

EDIT

I found I can add the video as background, it works but not exactly what I want because other elements will be added in the video.

Well, I do not know if it’s the best solution, but I try by adding a plan green color inside my scene and do a compositing using keying to remove the background of my scene.

It works…

Please tell me if I did something awfully complicated or if it is the most effectyive wy to do it…

Thanks for watching.

Have you enabled transparency in render properties?

You’re talking about this ?

First time I tested, it did not work.
I will try again without compositing and come back.

You need an alpha over node in your compositor to combine things like this

@joseph, if you add the video inside the video editor, the alpha over is not needed, but yes you’re right.

@Modron , My mistake, with the transparency, it work well so in that case, the compositing is not necessary. thank for your time and your answers.
