Sci-Fi Combat Armor

Hey everyone, I got somthing i think could be pritty cool if i can pull it off right. Below is some combat armor the human soldiers use in a sci-fi novel I’m writing.

Now, it is very, very rough right now, I have only put a few hours of work into it, and i need some crits and suggestions. It needs textured with a real metal-looking hull along with battle scars, burns, etc. If any one can direct me to a website with some of thouse things i would really appreciate it, i cant seem to find any.

I am not concered with the head right now, it is just the basic python MakeHuman head with a few rough materials thrown on, I’ll detail it once i get my armor looking good

And also, how do i actually get my animations to go through a render stage and be transfered to a Windows Media Player or Quicktime file? I have it all rigged but now the only thing i can do is alt-A

Thanks in advance

(p.s. sorry if it looks like I am throwing out a new blend every few weeks, I am still a noob and truely dont know how to do things yet.)

i think you should go to ID software and look at QUAKE 4.

From what i’ve seen they have pretty good looking armor and graphics

i think i coudl be wrong the url is this

http://www.idsoftware.com

Use the ANIM button (near the Render button). First set the range of frames, then select the type of file you would like to render (far right, quicktime is an option), change the location of the file (far left, there are 3 bars with directories, just change the top one), then press anim. It should render out the sequence.

Thanks for the help. I have added some metal textures and am pleased with the results. For some reason it will not allow me to post the short animation i made, I’ve tried both attachting to this post and putfile.com, it always freezes at the last second, so a picture will have to do

I still need battle scars, burns, chips in the paint, etc. So if anyone can help me find a sight with them it would be really appreciated, i would just make them myself, but the most advanced photo editing i have is the default paint that comes with windows, lol

C&C is always appreciated
