Great texturing and modeling, compositing etc.
Perhaps glossyness instead of specularity would look better though… but render times… Eh… nevermind

I notice you used some Topogun and 3dcoat for retopo - how did you find those tools compared to what we have in Blender?
hi encn, in 3dcoat i use the autoretopo for the “column voxel” autoretopo is really fast, in blender the retopo is manually is slow.
Retopo in blender and topogun is good for the organic sculpture… topogun is a good tool for retopo, its interface very simple and clean helps a lot in the work
Blender for the gun and the body retopo is great, because i have used the same mesh model cleared of excess loop of the hig mesh
marmoset is it realtime game engine for maya?
nice one! like the hard surface modeling very much! the face could have been more sculpted on.
the eyes and eyebrowns ridge make him look funny on the pic, the whole model looks like marines from starcraft2. I would have put a helm on him and those 2-3 visirs.

I think in the very first pic, it’s just unlucky with where the shadow from the eye-brow ridge is. and the lack of eyebrows. effect looks weird. otherwise I just love the hard surface modeling.

I’m really into sci-fi stuff so I love this render I really like the textures and the head sculpt, great work!! Kinda reminds me to Starcraft too.
Well, very well done, congratulations, Excelent job, I dont know whatelse to say, I dont like his face at all( its perfect but I dont want to face this guy on the street, heheeh) he is like kratos of God of war, and I dont like this kind of characters, ehehe, its a personal tast, the project is perfect
Unfortunatelly I have to disagree with other comments. I think that modelling and textures are really nice but materials are not too convincing. It looks like all of them use the same shader and color/bump maps only (all parts of uniform and weapon look like made of plastic; it seems like there are no spec/mirror maps). Ground is flat and it looks like soldier is flying above it, lighting does not create any atmosphere at all (sadly it almost looks like a studio render). The scene itself has a great potential and is far better than most of the images shown in the gallery. Still it lacks some good light setup and shaders, that’s my opinion.
I think there are some fantastic renders here. Did you the “Warhammer: Space Marines” movie? This looks better than a lot of shots in that film, although I did enjoy that.

What is the problem with the flat ground I dont get it? there is no possibility of a flat ground?
Nice effort… unfortunately you used a lot of apps for this, BI did it’s tricks and normal maps are wrong again. You can clearly see it in knees area. In some other areas too.
It’s a good image, the face isn’t convincing, the lack of SSS is noticeable.
The whole concept is boring as expected by me, all these recent movies are boring too.
For all these I rate it as *5. A great effort and great result. Just not for me.
