Screw Modifier Help - New User

Hi. I’m new to Blender and I’m just learning my way around, so forget me if this is a simple question. After adding a Screw Modifier to my project, I can only select the original shape I created, not the new mesh. It looks like on older versions, once you selected “APPLY” you can select everything. In 2.9 this doesn’t seem to be the case. Any idea as to how I can select all or part of the new mesh after adding this modifier and not just the original shape!?

In 29 there is a drop down on right of the modifier where you can select apply. Or you can press ctrl-a while hovering mouse over the modifier

Modifiers are non-destructive workflow, they don’t change your mesh they modify the original one. It means you can’t edit modified mesh, you need to apply modifier first. However you can still select modified parts by enabling this feature in the modifier panel (on the left from disable/enable in viewport/render buttons)

Thank you!!! I couldn’t figure out why apply was grayed out from that drop down. Turns out you can’t hit apply in the edit mode. Thanks for responding. I really appreciate it!!!

Thank you!! I appreciate the help!!!
