Set Default Blender Version on Mac OS

Is it possible on Mac OS high sierra to set an older version as default version of Blender.

There is an answer to this question on another post that shows (blender3.2.2 on windows)- preferences system - operating system- and a button to set as default version. But my version of 2.9.7 and 3.3.1 do not have the operating system panel.

Any other strategy. Because 3.4 does not work on my operation system I need Mac OS 14 or later for blender 3.4

When you delete startup.blend in the config folder, it runs to the initial screen.

If you right-click on any .blend file, and pick Get Info from the menu, you can change the default app for that file format.

You can select an app using that drop-down, then click Change All to set the selected app for all .blend files.

Thank you. I started a operating system upgrade. But decided I prefer to keep the AMD hd5770 over the metal enable GPU. So I have this project on the back burner as I can open .blend files from each version or from right clicking and choose “Open with”. This old 2 tb hdd is well over a decade old so i’m going to have to be patient and choose the best time to allign the file paths I think.

When you have multiple versions of Blender installed, they will all show in the list so that you can pick the version that you want:
