Set default image save name?

Am I remembering wrong, or was there a spot in Preferences where you can change it so that the default name for an image file is not “untitled”, but the name of the .blend file itself? So if I go to save my image when working on “thing.blend”, the default name for the image file becomes “thing.png”?

Also couldn’t find a setting like that in current version preferences, or any reference to it in a quick online search.

Hi all, I have also been on the path to having variables in file names that I render. Specifically I am currently trying to have camera names in there. I tried the Oscurart Tools and they are a little limited, not to mention have little to no documentation at the moment.
