Here is a picture of a sewer that I have been working on. I have also made a kind of mgs inspired hovercraft. I would appriciate some critique.
Hey let me crit on some things:
-The water is too green. Ever seen green water?
-The texture of the walls could use some improvement I suggest you find a brick wall texture on google and apply it.
-Maybe it’s me but at the end there is a tunnel to the right, but the water isn’t going in it.
-Also a human wouldn’t fit in that tube with the ladder it’s way to small especially at the end.
- Also try to find a better IRON texture for those ladders and poles.

The modelling is fine, but you definately need to work on the lighting and materials.
Thanks for your help. I will try to get a more filthy texture and try to improve the lighting. And you’r right about the sidetunnel. The water is supposed to o in there but i never managed to get a good fluid simulation and i hoped that i could cover it up but obviously not. I will do another simulation and try to get it right.

Don’t go with fluid sim unless you intend to animate. You’ll get better and faster results by just modeling some gushy water. Metaballs may help here.
Here is a newer version of the picture.
I remodelled the water and made it a bit more brown and less green. I have also changed the texture on the wall and I think just that made it a lot better.

use another light source like flash light and thin the light from above.and add a leaking pipe.
The second version looks much better already.
ALthough the wall texture and darker lighting improved the scene radically i still would suggest you to add some sort of bumpmap to the water.
There’s always new water flowing out of pipes into the sewer-water. So there should be some more motion in it.
Furthermore mayber some junk or a dead rat swimming on the top of the water would improve the “dirty-feeling” of the water.
Ah yes und reduce the mirror-effect on the water i would say.
