Shade smooth not working

Hi,

I have a car here and I’m experimenting with lighting. Right clicking and selecting ‘Shade Smooth’ doesn’t seem to work. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Just in case anybody encounters the same issue, it was a problem with the ‘normals’ on the mesh. I fixed it by doing the following:

  • Open the ‘Modelling’ tab
  • Click on the mesh which is the problem and then press tab (all vertices should now be selected in orange)
  • At the top of the window select Mesh > Normals > Merge. Press tab to exit the mesh edit.

You should now be able to right click on the mesh and select ‘Shade Smooth’ or ‘Shade Flat’.
