Shading problems

Hi people, when I turn the shading preview on I get this awkward shading, that shows the edge of the faces and like a degrade effect(redish to grayish).

How to fix this?

Welcome :tada:,
there is Viewport Shading: Wireframe, Solid, Material Preview, Rendered. The quality of this preview depends higly on the used complexity of the used shader and will always be different in the final render. So you may be a bit more precise about what really is your: Shading problems??

Hi thanks for your reply.

This picture was taken on the Rendered viewport shading, but the Material Preview has the same ‘degrade effect’, that what’s bothering me. I didn’t do anything special, just dragged and dropped my texture on Material graph (on Shading Tab) and linked to the default ‘Principle BSDF’. I believe it should me more solid. Just like the default shading on the Solid viewport shading, but with the color of the texture that I put. Since the object was not even selected I also believe that those ‘edges’ should not appear.

And your uv map and texture ?? How should anyone know anything about your model if you gives so little info ??? Descripe you problem don’t tell it’s looking odd. what do the modell should like? Where is it from? Bought, downloaded, grabed from a game… (I’m spending too much time on this…)

I guess you have a mistake in your shader setup, it looks like you do some wrong math with the “Generated” or “Object” output to the base color. Post a screenshot of your material nodes for the ship.

@Okidoki Sorry I did not know what information I should put here other than the modeled pre shaded. I did this model yesterday, out of my mind.

@rigoletto here’s the screenshot showing the texture, nodes, and the full model. (I believe thats what you asked) (btw its a gun)

Well, I was editing the uv of another model that I made, and figured that I had to change the texture node from Linear to Closest. This is the result(and what I somewhat expected):

Sorry for bothering about something so simple, and thanks.
