Hey guys, now that I have done Sonic, Im doing shadow, so lets get started
This time, texturing wasnt as easy, Shadow has alot nooks and cranies on him,
Two problems on him,
Main one is that the left eye wont show up, I have tex face enabled, and I have double checked the uv
Second one is the the sole of the shoe, odd lighting reflection and not sure what to do,
Thanks in advance!
Edit: by the way, the camera isn’t centered, mmk? Ill fix it in my next render!

YEAAH! Shadow, lol.
um, ya sry to say this but that looks horrible. Both the model(boxy) and materials.
Separate the legs a bit like in sonic, and as you said center the camera.
Until then.

Alright, I fixed the eye and the shoes, and I gave him two levels of subsurf( not applied yet)
I’ll rig him after I got the textures looking a little better.

total coolness
…though his feet seem very close together…or will you fix that when rigging?
fix it with rigging, which is what Im doing right now,
awesome can’t wait to see it…
btw, have you tried using a “studio backdrop” as a background? Jonathan Williamson has a small tutorial about them on BlenderCookie, they’re quite cool. if you use a dark-ish one with a bit more light, you might see Shadow a bit better
edit: the link, if you haven’t seen it before
looks better
though i’m very curious as to how you go about rigging these types of characters…Vertex Group linked to bones, plus a bit of weight painting?

Better but shouldn’t the shoe soles touch the ground
Take a look at your sonic render, that one had a very good front view pose!
How experienced are you in rigging? The sonic pose was very nice. I am making an iron man model, which i am thinking of rigging, do you think you can give any tips, cuz i only rigged once a lo-o-ong time ago?(i dont want to steal your thread, so feel free to respond back in mine )
[EDIT]: This just came to me: Why dont you copy the whole setup from Sonic to Shadow blend file, or better yet, why dont you just replace the Sonic mesh with Shadow, and tweak what need to be tweaked!

Any ideas on how to improve? Or is it prefect?
looks good!
…although the lighting seems kinda poor in that last scene… but you’ll probably fix that in the final scene, right?
