Shadows appear weird in viewport and weirder in render

Just as the title says, shadows get more dotted near hands

Any idea what could be causing this? Im using Blender 4.2.1

Welcome!

Is the scene either very large or very small? If it is, you need to adjust the clip distances to the size of the scene. You will find those settings for the viewport and the camera. The fact that the viewport and render act different makes me think this could be in cause.

The clip start shouldn’t be closer to the camera than needed (you don’t need to see 0.1mm in front of the camera for a huge landscape) and the clip end shouldn’t be many times farther than the farthest object in the scene.

What are your samples at? Try turning them up (128 should be plenty for most cases).

Hi, I tried this and it didnt change the shadows at all, only the distance the viewport/camera could see

I have the same issue at 1 sample and 256 samples

Would you be willing to upload the file? I understand if you don’t though.

Sorry for the late reply, yes I can give a lobotomized version of the model that still has the same issue

it appears I am a new user and cannot upload the model directly so you can get it through google drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/102GZcd6ig0esCSZ3gDSAIkHVcB0S_Bx3/view?usp=sharing

Hi, no issues my end. 4.3.2 and 4.2 both Eevee and Cycles.
Could be graphic card issue?

There was no problem my end in any of these versions?
Some times just switching off and on again seems to work.
