My first artwork here.
I was inspired by a photographer called Felix Alejandro Hernandez…if you have time, look him up because he is a master of his craft.
Anyhoo, I have a ship and decided to take a photo and bring it to life in Blender with the ocean, sky and volumetric light. A little post processing in photoshop after.

Was it difficult to mask out the photograph’s background? It is very similar to the color of the sails.

It was a bit of a pain. I should have taken the photo with some sort of chroma background but a good lesson learned. Having said that, the background removal tool on photoshop made things a lot easier. Very useful tool.
