Shortcut to search for a node in the shader editor?

Hi everyone

I find the spacebar to search in the model space very nice and fast.

I’m looking for something similar in the Shader Editor. I now I can press add > search but is there a shortcut for this function? I have searched in preferences > keymap > search but I have not found a solution.

Sorry if I just have overlooked it .

Shift+A brings up the add menu with the search field.

Thanks cgCody

So it the same shortcut as in the model window - that makes sense.
It could speedup my work-flow, if there was a shortcut direct to the search field. (maybe that can be modded?)
Not that I use Blender that much, just trying out until further.

It’s not exactly a one click solution, BUT there is a way you can call the search function up pretty quickly/fluidly without taking your hands off the keyboard: Roll your fingers over shift+a then s. shift+a bringing up the menu, then s brings up search.

Thanks cgCody - works just fine

One easy way to achieve this is to Assign a Shortcut to node search. Open the Add menu in the Shader Editor with Shift A, and then right click on the Search option and choose Assign Shortcut.

I use Ctrl Shift A because it’s easy to remember.
