Show Grid in Sculpting Mode by Default?

I like to have the grid and axes on in sculpting to help me orient myself around my sculpt, is there a way to set them to be shown rather than hidden by default?
I’ve tried looking in the menus but I can’t find anything that seems to work in between restarts of Blender.
(I’m using Blender 3.1.0, if that is important)

Welcome to BA,
You can activate them in the overlay

Welcome to the forum, @Alex_Smargle.

After activating the grids and guidelines in the overlay, you can go to file>defaults>save startup file to save the current file as a default every time you create a new sculpting file.
