Why is this not creating a sign wave on my geo, I feel it should be?
A look with the viewer node shows the z position all being 1 except indice 0. What is going on here?
I think you want to use the Sine function - not the Sign of the value 
Sign is returning 1 for positive values , -1 for negative and 0 if the value is 0.

omg I was using the wrong sign, not the trigonometric sign, arg, they look the same!
