SILO - Stasis Incarceration in Low Orbit

Several keyframes made as a demo project for my second grade students in concept art.

Theme came from an old abandoned animation project from a few years ago, but it’s always time to dig in. So never trash your old ideas.

Students have to make at least three storytelled keyframes following a brief.

In my case, most of the work as been made into Blender 4.0, cycles render, and post worked in Photoshop, for smoke, corrections and grading mainly. Except the red one with the woman, almost all redone in Photoshop with a Metahuma base, and a loooot of photobash, and painting.

Made a cut as well just for fun

Earth background is also a Cycles render from the Earth. I edited the maps to reflect desertic landscape and upper sea level, as mentionned in the brief, even if we can’t see it.

The Brief:

A clay view from the first shot:

And a few unused keyframe, except in the cut:

I like it, but you made it for second grade students? I don’t know whether they would understand.

Be sure they do understand. For two years I already make this kind of exercice, but on another theme, and it works pretty well. Some of their works has been posted here as well  These are good classes.
