Yeah I hear what your saying about the UVSphere saving time.
With this mesh I went down the road of using the mirrior modifier, and extruding a plane
to make the edgeloops etc. I did this for 2 main reasons: -
- To gain some mileage in modeling under my belt (I can look for shortcuts later when I know what I’m doing a bit more)
- Every tutorial I have seen suggests avioding triangles as this causes uneven faces (i.e. not smooth, and givein ugly results). I’m guessing that you would have a series of triangles at the poles of the sphere (or am i being to critical here?).Thoughts?
