Nice results…really.
Watching to the docs, I saw that you need to specify Elevation/Rotation of the sun for the Atmosphere. Is it possible to add an Object input in order to use a real sun object and get Elevation/Rotation directly and keep them syncronized with the sun?
Hello and thank you
.
Yes it is possible to customize anything since it’s made with geometry nodes. To control the rotation of the Sun with an object’s rotation of your choice you can just add an Object Info node and take the Rotation of it
. Hope it helps.
Wow! This is incredible, they look so realistic. The second one especially.
Wow! This looks quite impressive and versatile.
The videos on the gumroad page also look great.
Can you share some more examples? How does it work with terrain?
Thank you for the kind words
.
Everything is volumetric with real-world dimensions, which means big terrains are a perfect fit.
The atmosphere values I used are from the same creator of the model I used to implement the new Multiple Scattering Sky Texture.
Hope it helps
.
Beautiful stuff, masterfully done! You did a great job on this ![]()
Have just bought this and it looks great. I have a stupid question though:
Do I still need a sky texture / world material or do I leave that empty? (I’m assuming empty, but wanted to make sure).
Many thanks for the excellent addons!
Hello
, thank you very much for the support @LazloWoodbine .
You indeed just need color black for the world shader (since outside the Earth’s atmosphere there is space).
But I must have mentioned it in the guide of the product
.
Hope it helps.
Thanks. You probably did and I missed it! Many thanks.
I’m evaluating to buy your addon but as I’d like to use it and bake the sky and create full spherical HDRIs (with 8k resolution), I’d like to see an example of what is the final quality output, with rendertimes and hardware used (with memory cost of the rendering).
If you want to share the full HDRI as free is the best…if not, at least show some image cuts at 100% scale.
I hope it will be possible to do and thank in advance.
From the product page
Note: rendering clouds is meant to work on high end hardware, to render the volumetric clouds it’s recommended hardware accelerated raytracing.
With a Nvidia RTX 4090 GPU, rendering with Optix a 720p render with 128 samples takes roughly 6 minutes to render.
So, although possible, I would say rendering a 360 of the sky could take a long time.
I’ve read it but it’s quite general and not so helpful to understand if it will be an useful addon or not for my needs…so, in doubt I think I’ll wait for other people , if they want to share this…otherwise it’s not an issue…I’ll check for alternatives.
Thanks
Alright I gave it a try
, rendered an equirectangural 2048x1024 pixels image.
It took 4 minutes to render in a Nvidia RTX 4090 with 128 samples.
However, this is using an optimization I’m gonna release soon which makes it 3x faster
.
So the previous note is outdated.
Nice to read this!!!
Thank you very much for this test.
I’ve released an update that brings 3x faster rendering for cumulus clouds,
and easier to use parameters (now everything is exposed in the modifiers tab instead of shader nodes).
Hope you find this update helpful
.
Yep!
Those are all the parameters of the clouds, before they were mixed (some exposed in the modifiers tab and some in the shader nodes), but now everything is exposed just in the modifiers tab to simplify the user experience.
