I’ve noticed this in the latest versions of Blender 2.69 and the RC 2.70. If I go back to 2.68 I notice it but it is minor.
Select the mesh to be UV’d and hit U and then Smart UV. I leave the settings at default and wait.
Once completed, I notice in the lower left corner of the UV space what appears to be a single poly group but it turns out it is much denser. Selecting these polys shows that they are scattered across the mesh which makes it (in this state) useless for baking textures.
My current work around is to repack the UV space but this is not ideal. Can anyone shed light on what has happened in these newer versions or if I’m missing something really simple to solve this.
I appreciate any thoughts or assistance as always
