Smart UV projects is incorrect

Hello. I have modeled a terminal in Edit Mode and created an UV map using Smart UV Project. Then I have started painting.

I noticed that these two L-shaped faces weren’t supposed to overlap with the rectangle with a hole. When I paint the cables, the color goes to the bottom of the monitor too.

Is there a way how to fix this?

Yes- don’t use smart UV project, add Seams to edges manually and unwrap that way

Well this depends… after resetting the defautl cube UVs… only smart unwrapped, no UV seams …

Remember: Always check your UV’s after unwrapping…
