Smart Weathering for Blender

Hi there!

I’ve recently been working with materials in Blender. I’ve created a nodegroup that adds weathering effects on any material that was previously created, resulting in a compact and easy to use setup.

This lets you apply dirt, dust, scratches, smudges, and other weathering effects without the need of exporting it to programs like Substance Painter, and also without using UVs or baking!

The images below are free models that have been textured by just playing with the final nodegroup a few minutes.

Also if you are interested in it you will find it on Blendermarket and Gumroad as “Smart Weathering”

I hope you like it!

Software used: Blender 2.91+ Cycles

I’m very happy to share the result of months of development and iterations.
This is the presentation done for the new 3.0.0 version of Smart Weathering.
Now it is a set of tools I co-created with my brother (under the name of Tinquify) to create procedural shader and geometry nodes effects. Also it has an addon part with many utilities.

I wanted to add some gifs but they are larger than 5mb so they don’t display.

We really hope you like it
