Smooth shading does not apply in viewport

Hi!

This may not technically be a game engine question, but I am using the game engine for this, so I feel it belongs

When I have an object shaded smooth, it applies when I press ‘P’, but flat shading in the 3D viewport. This is very disorienting for me.

Here’s an example: the Zora Mask from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask (3DS version)

Any help? Thanks!

Do you have edges marked as sharp
Do you have an edge split modifier
Do you have auto smooth enabled

You have failed to supply any blend file so we are unable to check these things for you.

Aaaand auto smooth was the culprit. Ugh I feel stupid now. :spin:
