Smoothing Different Parts

I want to smooth out the intersection between the hand and the wrist.

However, since I just joined the hand, the wrist doesn’t want to smooth out with the hand. I only know how to get them to react by remeshing, but there is a problem: the voxel size I need crashes Blender. Any larger, and the areas between the fingers being to merge. Is there an alternative way to make separate parts act connected?

It seems while only joining the meshes (but not connecting) your arm and your hand have disconnected areas like here on the left side:

…delete them and try to connect your parts with edge conncet… and maybe some addition tweaking…

If I gotta go into Edit Mode, I’d like to solve the issue where my computer slows down while in Edit Mode on a remeshed object. I’m assuming it’s because the computer has trouble trying to render all those vertices at once, so how do I work around that?

Disable the Remesh modifier until you’re done in Edit Mode

There’s a remesh modifier? Where?

5 seconds later Oh, there.

No worries, happens to the best of us

This feels like a long shot, but what if I used the remesh in sculpt mode? Will I need to start over?

Maybe try something like this to retopologize?

I’m far from finishing up my sculpture. I’ll come back to this topic when I get to the retopology step.

I forgot about this topic for a while, but yeah. Retopologizing worked. At least, what I think is retopologizing worked.
