Snap to curve point?

hi,
i try to “quickly” snap a curve point to an other curve point (or curve control point) during transform without success.
i tried all available “quick” snap to during transform options of the view-port, but none of them let me snap to s curve point / curve control point
Snap to Volume - no success
Snap to Face- no success
Snap to Edge - no success
Snap to Vertex - no success
Snap to Increment - no success

is there an option?
(except of the complicated way of

  1. select target object,
  2. change to edit-mode,
  3. select target curve point,
  4. snap cursor to selected,
  5. change object mode,
  6. select destination object,
  7. change to edit-mode,
  8. select destination curve point,
  9. snap selected to cursor.
    )

I’ll be watching this thread, I’d like to know also if there is an easier way than the tedious 9 step process .

Convert - Alt-C curves? Convert back after snapping?
But, well, would have been fine just to snap points.

this would be a workaround only for one portion of the problem…
with that i can only snap to the vertices (of curve points), but never to curve handle control points -sometimes, there is also the need to snap to.

where can i post feature requests?
i think it should be not such a big deal to implements snapping to curve points & curve control points/handle points…
i hope i am not wrong :wink:

The 9 steps aret true if you are dealing with 2 different objects mesh / curve.
If you have 2 curve objects you can join them into one single object, snap your curve / handle points in edit mode using the cursor.
If you want to separate them again just select a single point hit p and you’ll have 2 curve objects again.

hmmm…
something similar to edge snap for curve would be also nice :slight_smile:
and similar to vertex slide for meshes would be curve slide very very nice :yes:

mesh => equivalent curve
snap to vertex => snap to curve point /curve handle point
snap to edge => snap to curve
slide vertex along edge => slide curve point / curve handle point along curve

that would be wonderful !!! :smiley:
