Can someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong? I am trying to snap two objects together by vertices. I grab one object close to a vertex and move it to the one I want to snap to. It snaps to a point out in space instead of the intended vertex. I have snapping enabled and Vertex and Closest selected. I’m using Blender 2.83.4.
I’ve attached the model and a picture showing what I’m trying to do.
You need to move and rotate the object as close to the desired position as possible, apply rotation and scale and then use snapping. The tool is also much more responsive in edit mode.
That’s bad news. I was hoping to move from Sketchup to Blender. Without a good snapping function, that seems impossible now. There also needs to be a way to nest objects like components in Sketchup.
