Snow buildup simulation in blender 2.7/2.8

Hello,

Been trying to research on how I could create a snow simulation to create buildups (corner of a room) for a PC game I’m working on but I can’t seem to find anything that would help, considered trying repurposing the fluid simulation but that lead nowhere as well.

Any tips on how I could achieve such an effect? (example in pic attached)
