Soaked Light Bulbs

Hey guys, i’m back with a new minimalist art work. I was inspired to make this by a photograph i saw online, It shows two blown out light bulbs that have been hung out in the open, and have subsequently been exposed to a heavy shower.

its rendered at 1000 samples and at a 1920 x 1920 resolution. i added a procedural film grain texture i made using a highly scaled up voronoi texture in compositing in order to make it feel old, grainy and nostalgic. (upon a zoom in of real world film grain, i found the silver salt crystal formations look quite similar to a voronoi texture, so i tried it and it turned out quite well i think).

the water droplets are mainly procedural using a voronoi texure being distorted by a noise texture to give it variation. there is also a hair particle system using water drops i modelled in order to give the procedural droplets the illlusion of depth, and to speed up render times as using modelled water drops everywhere takes up alot of power. and also the procedural nature of the drops makes it look even better than a particle system.

here is the pre composited version and a clay render.

I just wanted to add to this post, by showing what i started off with, shall i make a single lightbulb on its own as a new render?
