Soft body tutorial

Hi guys, I’m currently doing http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro/Soft_Body_Animation while on 2.49

I’ve come to the point where it says to set the plane to ‘deflect’, I have no clue what it means by this, no matter what I toggle I don’t see an option that says this.

What does the tutorial author mean?

Thanks!

(My .blend file is attached just in case I’ve made a mistake)

press f7 to get to the object tab. press the “physics buttons” button (the one with the ball bouncing) click on collision tab right near the fields tab. click collision to enable collision. that tutorial was using an older version of blender. here is the newer documentation. http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:Manual/Physics/Soft_Bodies
