Soft shadows using shadow catcher

In my render we are rendering out buildings for a game, but when using the a plane as a shadow catcher. And it leaves soft shadows artifacts around the building that we for now have removed manually in gimp. But on animations this will become a big problem. Can anyone help me identify what is causing this?

I’m using Cycles and the lates LTS version of blender 3.6

I have a plane under the building that has the shadowcatcher object option. one Sun lamp in the scene and ambient occlusion and using the transparent option under “film”.

So what i’m trying to do is to keep the image as it is now, but only have the hard dark shadows in the final image and remove all those other shadows that appears.

I’ve tried increasing the passes.

It’s because you have Ambient Occlusion turned on- Ambient Occlusion never returns hard shadows, you have to turn it off for hard shadows

Thank you. I tried, but still causing some shadow artifacts, but I will try to change the lamp from sun to spot. hmm and it seems i was wrong, only render option “AO” was enabled, but I cant seem to have enabled it, but probably the ways cycles do light bounces… hmm.
