Hello,
I have a model of an animal with fur. I emit 10k hair particles and multiply it with 100 interpolated children.
I use vertex groups for keeping fur out of eyes, nose and mouth and for controlling length. The mesh is mirrored.
Combing the fur works well. This is the model before rendering, it looks as expected.
And this is preview render in the viewport. It looks good.
Then I render and the fur becomes very patchy:
Now, when I escape the rendered image, it looks like this:
In preview render mode it looks like this, still very patchy.
If I enter Particle edit mode (combing etc) the fur looks good again. When I go back to object mode it is still good. It is the rendering that destroys it.
I’m not sure if this is a bug or me screwing some up.
