(Solved) Trouble with Alpha nodes in Cycles 2.79

Hello,I’m pretty new here!
I’ve only recently started to dip my toes into Blender fully although I have used it every once in a while the past couple of years.I do know the basics when it comes to setting up a scene for a render,but I’ve ran into some pretty specific territory that I can’t seem to find much info on.

Here is the current node setup,I’ve added what I’m assuming to be shaders I will need to use.
Any help’d be appreciated!
Also quick little note,I’ll provide an image of the model I’m using if needed too.Forgot to say,I’m trying to somehow make it so I can use the red channel and add the alpha on top.

You are about 99% finished with your setup. You just need to plug the principled into the second slot of the mix shader, and plug the mix shader into the surface output node and you are done.

If you need to change how blender handles the alpha channel, then you can change those settings for each texture in the image editor. I recently helped someone with some texture issues. Maybe that thread will have some useful info:
